Privacy Policy
At EWING NAUTIC, protecting your data is essential. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what your rights are, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller
EWING NAUTIC is the controller of the data collected through the ewing-nautic.com website and the EWING NAUTIC mobile app. The publisher's full details are in the Legal Notice. For any question about your data: contact@ewing-nautic.com.
2. Data we collect
Account and identity: email, first name, last name, phone (optional), password (securely handled by our authentication provider). Professional profile: company name, trade, home marina, certifications, photo. Boat and logbook: boat characteristics, trips, maintenance, invoices and expenses, documents (certificates, insurance, registration), photos. Crew: CV, experience and information shared for matching. Location: approximate or precise position, with your consent, to show nearby marinas and professionals. Payment: when you make a purchase, card data is processed directly by our payment provider; we never store your card number. Technical data: connection logs, device type and, if you agree, audience measurement.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Provide the service — directory, matching, quote requests, logbook, crew area, bookings (performance of the contract). Transactional communications — login link, confirmations, maintenance reminders (performance of the contract and legitimate interest). Marketing communications — only with your consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. Audience measurement — with your consent (cookie banner). Security, fraud prevention and accounting obligations (legitimate interest and legal obligation).
4. Artificial intelligence processing
To save you time, the CVs and invoices you upload may be automatically analysed by an artificial intelligence service to extract useful information (skills, amounts, dates, categories). These documents are transmitted securely, solely for that extraction, are not used to train models, and the result is always shown to you for validation before saving.
5. Sharing and providers
We never sell your data. We use providers (processors) acting on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage — hosted in the European Union); Vercel (application hosting); Brevo (transactional and, where applicable, marketing emails — European Union); Stripe (payment processing); Anthropic (AI analysis of the documents you upload). Each only accesses the data needed for its task.
6. Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers are located outside the European Union, notably in the United States. These transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards: European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and/or participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Retention period
Your data is kept as long as your account is active. After your account is closed, it is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable time, unless a legal retention obligation applies (for example, invoices are kept for the period required by accounting law). CVs submitted without creating an account are automatically purged after a short period.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures: encryption of data in transit, restricted access, and storage of files (documents, CVs, invoices) in private spaces protected by strict access rules.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise them, write to contact@ewing-nautic.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
10. Cookies and audience measurement
The site uses cookies strictly necessary for its operation and, only with your consent, audience-measurement cookies intended to improve the service. You can accept or refuse the latter via the consent banner and change your choice at any time.
11. Mobile app and permissions
The mobile app may request access to your location (to show nearby marinas and professionals) and to your camera (to photograph a document, a boat or a receipt). These permissions are optional, requested at the time of use, and can be revoked at any time in your phone settings.
12. Minors
The service is not intended for people under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
13. Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the service or regulations. Any significant change will be published on this page. For any question: contact@ewing-nautic.com.
